Marine and coastal ecosystem services

The future role of marine and coastal ecosystems for human well-being depends increasingly on developing the capacity of countries to manage human uses and impacts, in order to ensure that the health and self-repairing capacity of these ecosystems is not undermined. Sea-Scope is able to undertake field surveys of coastal and shallow water ecosystems which contribute to full ecosystem assessments. In 2013, we were commissioned by Forest Trends (US) to assist with drawing up a Rapid Ecosystem Assessment Protocol which we then tested as part of the Abu Dhabi Blue Carbon Demonstration Project.
